Copper Scientific

Laboratory and bioinformatics software

Exact tools for work that has to stand up later.

Copper Scientific is a software house for individual scientific jobs: the plate map before you pipette, the indexes that have to demultiplex, the filename a pipeline will actually accept. Each product is complete for its job, explicit about its limits, and built so the result can live with the experiment.

Practice

The standard we hold a tool to before it is published.

  • Self-service

A trained scientist can find a tool, run it, and keep the export—without an account or an implementation project.

  • Local by default

The plate planner and index collision checker parse tables in the browser. Run-folder repairs will run as a local program. We do not collect research payloads for analytics.

  • Reproducible

Given the same inputs, seed, and version, the result is the same. The export records enough to inspect that later.

  • Scientifically restrained

These products are not for patient-identifiable data. Ambiguous edits are reported, not applied in silence.

Current work

96-well plate layout planner

From a sample table, the planner assigns a 96-well layout under the constraints you set: edge wells, controls, replicates, grouping, and randomization. It is free, including export. Rules that cannot be met are listed on the report.

The company

A software house, not a laboratory platform.

We do not sell a LIMS, an inventory system, or an implementation project. Copper Scientific publishes tools that a scientist can use unattended, inspect, and file with the work. That discipline is the brand. It will still be the brand when the catalog is longer.
